We are recruiting high school seniors or recent graduates who have not attended college before, who are interested in attending NEIU for the Fall 2019 semester majoring in Computer Science. We are recruiting these students for the GoogleComputer Science Institute Extension (CSSI-Extension) Programat NEIU El Centrolocated at (3390 N Avondale, Chicago, Illinois 60618) from Monday July 22- Friday, August 9, 2019. Additionally, the selected students will be part of our Computer Science cohort program at NEIU El Centro and will continue receiving holistic support during their time at NEIU including academic advising, financial support, guidance on applying for additional scholarships, career services assistance and will be able to apply for internships in the Technology Industry.
Northeastern Illinois University is one of nine colleges and universities from around the nation—and the only institution in the Midwest—that has recently partnered with Google to pilot the Computer Science Summer Institute Extension Program during the summer of 2019. The program’s goal is to increase the number of women, underrepresented ethnic minority students, first-generation, and low-income college students in the field of computer science. Google’s three-week intensive, interactive, hands-on and fun program introduces computer science to graduating high school seniors with a passion for technology.

However, students have to be admitted to NEIU and in addition complete the CSSI-Extension application in the link listed above, we will be extending the deadline to June 1, 2019 by Midnight.
