Collaborative Maker Exhibition Workshop, Saturday, May 21st, 10am -12pm

If you want to exhibit at the Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire, and would like your exhibit to somehow connect to or be part of a collaborative experience, come join other makers as we workshop ways to:

  • Co-exhibit
  • Collaboratively design an exhibit
  • Create exhibits that naturally connect to others
  • Highlight connections between your exhibit and another

We will examine themes (art, motion, larger than life, your idea?) to help get your creative juices flowing, then break into groups to develop the ideas that resonate with you. By the time you leave, you should have identified potential partner(s) and have enough of a plan to update your existing application to be a maker!

Saturday, May 21st from 10:00 – Noon

Museum of Science & Industry, Chicago

(Includes admission for you and 2 guests, plus parking for one vehicle)

Why a meetup?

We value our makers’ feedback and at our 2015 debrief, you told us you wanted opportunities to engage with each other BEFORE the event, as well as opportunities to collaboratively plan your exhibits.

How to register:

Before using this Eventbrite link to register, you will need to apply for the 2016 Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire. You will need your maker ID number to register. Don’t worry, the application is non-binding and you have total control over its content.

What to bring with you:

Your creative muse, a tangible item that illustrates the types of things you enjoy creating, your maker ID#, and an open mind.

Who is this for?

Any maker who wants to infuse collaboration into their exhibit!

Participation Required?

Absolutely not! This workshop is entirely optional, but it will be a fun way to engage with other makers as you plan for your exhibits.

I have more questions! Who can I ask?
