Huskie Hack – FREE Campus Event November 5-6, 2016

Students in high school and middle school are invited to register to attend Northern Illinois University’s Huskie Hack which will take place November 5-6, 2016.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students from the region to mix and mingle while working on coding, design and engineering projects at NIU’s DeKalb campus. This is a free (pre-registration is required, along with parental permission) 24+hour event that exposes students to the design process, utilization of critical thinking, and opportunity to look at the history of computing, making, and innovation through the last half century. This is an interdisciplinary event that encourages those who have never coded, worked with robotics, or delved into technology and its relevance to today’s workforce skills to investigate and participate in a non-threatening and safe environment.

For additional information, questions, or concerns please contact tlrogers or call 779-777-7724. Registration is open and students from middle school and high school (with parental permission) will have priority in acceptance to the event. Meals will be provided throughout the event. Students will compete for awards and recognition. Fun activities are planned to engage the right brain and left, while leaving room for students to discover computing at their own pace.
