Level the playing field for SAT prep

Exciting news: Khan Academy is partnering with the College Board so that all students who want to go to college can prepare for the SAT at their own pace, at no cost.

The College Board just announced that they’re redesigning the SAT for 2016, and we’re partnering with them to make free, world-class prep materials. Know anyone preparing for the SAT? Let them know:

By spring 2015, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art, interactive learning tools that give you deep practice and help you diagnose your gaps. All of this will be created through a close collaboration with the College Board specifically for the redesigned SAT. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, if you are taking the SAT in 2014/15, you can start practicing today with hundreds of previously unreleased Math, Reading, and Writing questions from real SATs and more than 200 videos that show step-by-step solutions to each question:

Computer Science Fair

Interested in learning about app development? Websites? Programming? Robotics? Register for the Lane Tech Computer Science Fair to take place during School on April 25, 2014.

What is the Computer Science Fair?

As an individual, you will identify a problem that can be solved by using one of the categories below and present your solution to the judges.


  • Android Application (MIT App inventor, Eclipse, etc )
  • Website
  • Video Game using Alice, Scratch. http://oswing.sourceforge.net/ . etc 
  • Open Division: (Program writing in any language or robotics)

Example project: How do I know what the lowest prices is for my nike shoes? Create an app that searches all websites for the best price.

 No Experience? No Problem

All are welcome to participate! Please use the learning resources found below, especially if you are a beginner. The judges take into account your experience while judging.

 What are the Prizes?

Big prizes include a google chrome book and opportunities to learn from current industry gurus, we also have smaller prizes like tee-shirts and similar items.
