This year, Sail will be a two-day, hybrid event. Students will have the opportunity to brainstorm ideas for projects during the virtual IDEAthon on Friday. On Saturday, students will have the chance to attend classes taught by current students at UIUC and learn about different computer science topics, as well as life at UIUC.

On April 8th-9th 2023, we will have a virtual IDEAthon and combination of virtual and in-person activities. Students attending virtually will be at no disadvantage.

Women in Engineering Summer Program – UIC

WIESP 2023 will be an IN-PERSON program from June 17, 2023 – July 12, 2023 from 10AM-2:30PM

This year’s program will highlight Electrical & Computer Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Prior experience in engineering and/or programming is NOT required. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a stipend!

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  • 11th or 12th Grade by Fall 2023
  • Overall GPA 3.2+ (unweighted)
  • Grades of As and Bs in Math and Science Classes
  • Member of a STEM Club
  • Submit Teacher Recommendation Form
